Debbie Fenton loves her job because massage therapy enables her to help people with stress, pain, range-of-motion, and anxiety challenges in daily life to regain healthy function in their bodies.
Debbie has been a licensed massage therapist since 1998 and is owner of CanalSide Therapeutic Massage in the village Pittsford, New York. She is certified in several massage modalities including trigger point, deep tissue, myofascial therapy, orthopedic massage, and active isolated stretching. Debbie is also trained in Oncology Massage through the Pluta Cancer Center.
Debbie is a registered yoga teacher and a 2006 graduate of Francois Raoult’s ETT (Essential Teacher Training) program at Open Sky in Rochester, New York. In 2004, she completed an eight-week MBSR (Meditation Based Stress Reduction) course with Dr. Michael Krasner, which focuses on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn to use meditation as a tool to reduce stress and pain. Debbie combines all these learnings and experiences to provide an introspective, nurturing, supportive and peaceful massage experience.
In November, 2007, Debbie gave birth to triplets, Neptune, Jordan, and Kariana. Continuing on a part-time basis with her massage therapy practice allows her to balance work life and a hectic home life.
